Poetic musings which feed the soul.
The films on this page are all short comic films with a strong element of the absurd. They stand on their own as original creations, and are not meant to look or sound or feel like Hollywood films. Filmed on a variety of formats, they were produced with little capital but a lot of passion and resourcefulness. One was nominated for an online award, and a number of them were prominently featured on various film sites.

The creator of this site believes that there is a redemptive value to what he calls "comic lunacy," because it allows us to release the rigidity of everyday life and show what lies beneath; as such, he has emphasized this in his various creations.
"Fugunka" was the nonsense word given to this film-making vision. Despite one actress saying that the word made her think of "toe jam," it seemed to capture the strong element of absurdist humor which forms the basis of the vision. The creator of these films wrote a ditty: "There are lunks in the lunka... skunks in the skunka...punks in the punka... let us find that great and wonderful FUGUNNKA! FUGUNKA!"

One actress said to the creator of Fugunka Films: "Most of the auditions I go on are all for the same kind of material, so boring and run-of-the mill. But your stuff is truly different. Keep at it!"
Among the first "investors" in Fugunka Films were: a transsexual model, a Park-Avenue businesswoman, a typist for IBM, and a millionaire NJ businessman; another Fugunka Film was funded in part by a grant from The Brooklyn Arts Council.
FUGUNKA FILMS
(short comic films)
Fugunka Films have been screened at various venues, including a landmark theater in the Midwest, trendy bar/lounges in NYC, a Dada Festival also in the NYC area, the TriBeca Film Center, and various festivals. But the Creator of Fugunka Films hates the snobbish, pretentious atmosphere of festivals and prefers to bring his creations directly to his audience. .

"Clearly, Hollywood was where dreams collided with a terrible reality, and this violent collision claimed many casualties. There they were, walking the streets of Hollywood alongside dreamy-eyed tourists who were too naïve to guess the reality that shoveled beauty into vagabondage and talent into cheap imitations of outmoded forms ."

"I espouse facial contortions in my theatrical works, whereby actors are encouraged to use their faces as canvasses of human emotion – contorting them into never-before-seen expressions. I can do this as well, and I am tempted to call each expression a ‘Skwikkit.’"
"These are anti-film-festival, anti-Hollywood, anti-IMDB films which stand triumphantly on their own, far beyond the realm of the ruthless (white) elites who have colonized this and virtually every other art form in existence. As such, they are not meant to look, sound, or feel like mainstream schlock in ANY way."
